Alison Lou, the NYC-based jewelry brand that helped bring enamel, bold color, and emojis to fine fashion jewelry design, has partnered with heritage caviar brand Caviar Kaspia, which was founded in Paris in 1927, on a chic little capsule collection, Alison Lou X Caviar Kaspia.
The meeting of the two design minds happened when Caviar Kaspia moved into the Mark Hotel earlier this year, which happens to be adjacent to Alison Lou’s Madison Avenue storefront. “I reached out to them through our mutual landlord,” Alison Chemla, founder of Alison Lou, told The Zing Report. “I showed them the caviar jewelry pieces that we had done for one of our first collections in 2014, and they loved them, so we worked backwards from there!”

Kaspia has a history of collaborating with creatives, having conceptualized product with fashion brands Off-White, Jacquemus, Giambatista Valli, and famed fashion editor Carine Roitfeld, among others, in the recent past.
Chemla loves the brand’s ethos, but is a longtime caviar fan—“It’s always something that I have at special occasions with my family,” she says. When asked how she balances designs that feel grown-up-chic but are also deeply cute (tins of sparkling fish eggs and ever-so-tiny spoons!) she explains, “I love to have fun with my designs, but I never like to compromise on quality. It’s always such a fine line of going too far, but I really try to keep my pieces more elevated so that they appeal to different demographics.”

The Alison Lou X Caviar Kaspia styles are currently for sale on AlisonLou.com, and in both the jewelers’ and caviar makers’ NYC stores. Prices for pieces range from $500-$10,000.
