The diamond and the softly tapering shape of the style was meant to reflect a water droplet, and for good reason. For each $250 bracelet sold, charity: water will provide clean water to one person in Tanzania, with the ultimate goal of funding clean water for an entire community in the country. The nonprofit organization brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries; since 2006 it’s funded 120,784 water projects around the world to help over 16.8 million people get access to clean water, hygiene, and improved sanitation.

Kwiat is retailing the cuff bracelet exclusively on their website kwiat.com, and CEO Greg Kwiat said in a prepared statement, “As a diamond-producing region, Tanzania is very near to our hearts. We feel it’s important to give back to the local community and make sure they have access to the most important resource of all—clean water.”

Beyond providing clean water, the collaboration between Kwiat and charity: water is also intended to help change the lives of women and girls, who are often the ones who bear the burden of collecting water in Tanzanian communities, and thus end up having less time to pursue education, career paths, and personal opportunities.
